Below are resources for parents and teachers that can be trusted to adhere to high standards for research-based information and advice. All resources are going to have diverse viewpoints and will grow and change as new information comes to light, but these are your best sources.

National Association for Gifted Children

The place to learn the basics (after finishing my free course!) NAGC provides a wealth of information through position papers, parent tip sheets, and has a directory that you can search. All the information is carefully vetted by experts.

Belin-Blank Center

The Belin-Blank Center is a top source of research into practice information. The center engages in research and provides courses in gifted education and programs for gifted students. It is the go-to resource for information about ACCELERATION.

Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth

Johns Hopkins CTY as well as CTY Ireland provides resources for parents and educators who are seeking advanced programming for gifted students. They provide courses for students who want to take their education to a deeper level.

Davidson Institute

The Davidson Institute has a mixture of informational resources and blogs that appeal to parents and teachers working with the upper end of the gifted spectrum. Some of the blogs entries should be compared with other resources, but overall it is an informative site for parents and educators.

Fordham Institute

The resources tagged as "Advanced Education" provide a wealth of commentary about gifted education policy in the United States. It is essential for advocacy work.

Just Ask

As a general tip, if you getting in deep into learning about gifted children, are searching on Google and find some information that is behind a research journal paywall, send the lead author an email and they will likely send you the article. Researchers want their work read and do not get any of the money from people accessing their work.
